Don’t take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive
I remind this to myself each time Im scared or worried about anything.
Because really. No matter what we achieve, not achieve, get or not get – the end of a journey is always death. So what’s the big deal then?
And when it’s time for you to leave this planet – you won’t take anything or anybody with you. You won’t take your partner or friends. You certainly will not take any money or cars. You won’t take positions you held over years, or even diseases and heartbreaks.
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
1 Timothy 6:7
What you do take – is the love, that people who remain here, have for you. You will live in their memories. They will rejoice in remembering nice moments they had with you.
Nothing else matters.
I never heard the story of someone who is dying to say – I should have earned more money. I should have reached the top of a corporate ladder. I should have gotten more power. I should have slept with more (wo)men. I should have drank more alcohol. I should have pretended more. I should have played “cool” more.
Nobody says that.
But everyone says – I should have allowed myself to love more deeply.
